Elton Hall and Gardens near Peterborough, PE8 6SH

By own transport, meeting in the car park of Bosworth’s Garden Centre 11.45am

Elton Hall lies in unspoilt parkland, where a house has stood since the 12^th century. Since 1660 it has been the home of the Proby family, and successive generations have embellished the house and the collection. This includes many Old Masters and many fine examples of English portraiture. Our visit Includes both the house and recently restored garden, which was Historic Houses Garden of the Year Judges Choice in 2021. There is a lily pond, flower garden, Orangery, shrub garden, topiary and a shell arbour to celebrate the Jubilee. The large walled garden is now a Plant Centre which we can visit. We have booked a soup and sandwich lunch in the Mulberry Café for 12 noon. The café is in Bosworth’s Garden Centre in the old walled garden, and this is where we park for the visit. Please meet in the car park for 11.45am. (PE8 6SH)

After lunch there will be a private tour of the house, probably in two groups, after which we are free to enjoy the garden at leisure.

Cost: Friends £28.00 Guests £30.00

(This includes lunch, the gardens and tour of the house)

As this is an own transport event, we would like to arrange lifts for those unable to drive there if it is possible. Please indicate on the booking form if you would like a lift or could offer a lift for this event.
