Kelmarsh Hall

Meet on lawn in front of Kelmarsh Hall 11.00 am

Own transport (post code NN6 9LY)

This is the date we had hoped to have our Rutland Water study Day but, due to the uncertainty of Covid restrictions, this had to be postponed yet again. A visit to Kelmarsh Hall Gardens seemed like a suitable alternative. With the extensive gardens we can be outside, it is near enough for own transport and will give us a good opportunity to meet up with Friends.

Kelmarsh Hall is a Palladian style country house built in the 1730s. Surrounding the Hall are grade ll listed historic gardens, which were restored by Nancy Lancaster and Nora Lindsay in the 1930s and 1940s. There are herbaceous borders, woodland walks, sunken garden, splendid views to the countryside and the jewel in the crown, the magnificent triangular walled garden.

There will be tea/coffee and cake of the day on arrival and a light lunch. Please make your choice of lunch on the booking form.

Lunch option 1:    Cheese, Tomato & Caramelised Onion Quiche, with Salad garnish and Coleslaw. Includes Tea and Coffee

Lunch option 2:    Ploughman’s lunch with Red Leicester Cheese, Cheddar Cheese, Mini Pork Pie, Crackers, Salad Garnish and Coleslaw. Includes Tea and Coffee

Cost:  Friends £22.50        Guests £23.50

(This includes entrance to the gardens, tea/coffee and lunch)

This visit has been planned on the current prediction for Covid rules and could, therefore, be subject to alteration. If it becomes necessary to limit numbers, this will be done on a first come first served basis.

Please return the booking form by Thursday 10th June 2021
