“Knowing leads to caring” is the slogan of the Gardens Trust movement and this is what we feel our Research Group is all about.
You don´t have to be a professional researcher or even have any previous experience, but if you are interested in local history, this part of our work could appeal to you.
We are a small group who meet every month. We work together, combining our skills, sharing information and just having fun. You can commit as much or as little time as you wish.
We will give you the opportunity to
- Discover more about local parks and gardens
- Learn how to look at a landscape, park or garden through the eyes of a garden historian
- Find out about the resources that the County Record Office has to offer and how to access other possible sources of historical material
- Develop your skills, using our researchers´ training manual
- Use our research to reach a wider public as we transfer it to the Parks and Gardens UK database.
